Native Apps
Why Native Mobile Apps beat HTML5 mobile apps [mobile web apps]
"Web standards lack essential gesture-savvy, and of course can't take full advantage of the tablets' and smartphones' strengths"
The headline above is from InfoWorld's Mobilize Mobile Edge author Galun Gruman. Galun states "There's been a big debate in the media over whether HTML5 or native apps will win on the tablet. The answer is clear to me: Native apps will. Why? Because they can do more, and they can better take advantage of the touch and other native capabilities of the iPad."
This answer is concise, accurate, and the same logic applies to the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Android Phones and Tablets, and whatever smart devices have strong built-in native functionality. Notice that the argument is not whether mobile web apps are useful or cool, because they can be, and they are necessary - but Mobile Web Apps cannot replace Native Mobile Apps - period.
More importantly, sales and marketing gurus love the idea of being in your customers pocket. Think about it, when your native mobile app is used, you know it was from a specific device and a "real" person; someone with purchasing power used your app and you know all about it.
